Lamberto Melina employs an extremely rigorous technique known as ‘painting in a single layer’, creating his work in a single layer of paint, without any second thoughts or subsequent overlays.

It is no coincidence that he is regarded as a master of hyperrealism: the paint is applied with absolute precision, requiring total control over the brushstroke – there is no margin for error. Every stroke is final.
