The spiral is a magical symbol that is omnipresent in nature. From sunflowers to the horns of certain animals, from the motion of cyclones to DNA molecules, from shells to galaxies, everything seems to obey the geometric rules of the golden rectangle and the golden spiral it generates. God is a fundamentalist mathematician, a physicist recently declared, and how can we disagree with him? But there is something more to this work. The human figure is absorbed, with closed eyes. It is an invitation. An invitation to perceive without “looking”, to feel without “understanding”, that is, to remain in ecstatic contemplation of the biocentric laws of the universe. Because the spiral contains meanings that take us beyond simple rational understanding. It is a “path”, a “way” to knowledge, a symbol of evolution from the material to the immaterial, from physicality to impermanence.
