Inspired by the Japanese art of kintsugi, which celebrates the aesthetic and spiritual value of imperfection and repair, Ramona explores the philosophy of wabi-sabi, embracing the beauty of impermanence, imperfection and incompleteness. In her paintings, the cracks, imperfections and scars left by life are celebrated as part of our story and as sources of strength and beauty.
Her works are held in private collections worldwide and exhibited in prestigious galleries across Romania, Spain, Italy, Argentina and the United States. Her growing international recognition was further highlighted by her fourth-place award at the Lorenzo il Magnifico competition during the 2023 Florence International Biennale of Contemporary Art and Design. Biography
Ramona Russu is a Romanian painter who graduated from the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Brussels and moved to Corsica in 2014 to pursue her artistic journey. Her work explores the complexity of female emotions and experiences, highlighting the concept of imperfect beauty through monochromatic works enriched with 24-karat gold leaf.
