Biography
Michelino Iorizzo, born in Rome in 1971, trained as a restorer of Old Master paintings, studying at the Art High School and later graduating from the Academy of Fine Arts in Rome. This background gave him a deep knowledge of traditional painting techniques and historical materials.
After years of experience and teaching in Italy and abroad, particularly in the Middle East, Iorizzo developed a distinctive and personal artistic language. His work focuses primarily on portraiture, often emerging from inner visions rather than real-life models. His iconic Gheishe series draws on imagination, dreams and visions that arise during the creative process.
