In his work, Michelino Iorizzo explores portraiture as an expression of an inner process. The face emerges from a layered, textured painting, constructed through spatula strokes, drips and gestural marks that alternate between control and instinct.

The figure is not descriptive, but revealed: the pictorial material is worked, removed and allowed to drip until an intense, suspended gaze emerges, a synthesis of his research between figuration and vision.
