Part of Matthias Brandes’ latest body of work, this piece depicts a suspended landscape in which minimalist structures emerge from a still body of water. The tones are carefully balanced and harmonious, playing on soft, layered colour transitions where pinks, greys and greens blend naturally to create a quiet, ethereal atmosphere. The diffused light and textured surfaces help to blur the contours, emphasising that suspended, contemplative quality that characterises the artist’s most recent work.
