In this extraordinary work by Angelo Accardi, the real is mixed with the absurd in a composition that challenges the viewer's perception. The setting, an elegant interior with a classical and refined taste, is transformed into a dreamlike stage where out-of-context elements come to life with surprising naturalness.

The ostriches, iconic figures in Accardi's poetics, move gracefully among sophisticated furnishings, black and white floors and sumptuous architectural details. Their plumage dissolves in brushstrokes of white and deep blue, as if they were fleeting apparitions, elusive presences inhabiting a limbo between dream and reality. The vibrant blue of their feathers contrasts with the composure of their surroundings, amplifying the tension between the familiar and the unexpected.

The viewer's gaze is guided through the interplay of perspectives and architectural openings, while pop details and artistic quotations emerge as secrets hidden within the scene: a Jeff Koons' Balloon Dog, a large painting by Murakami, a coloured window evoking the language of Mondrian, and an enigmatic classical portrait that seems to observe the whole situation with ironic complicity.

Accardi's expressionist touch is manifested in the drips of colour and scratches on the pictorial surface, signs that break the composure of the representation and recall the dynamic and unpredictable character of his visual universe. With oil on canvas, the artist creates a work that moves between past and present, between academic art and pop culture, in a perfect balance between aesthetics and conceptuality.
