In this work, Veronica Green explores her characteristic dialogue between color, matter, and verticality. Overlapping brushstrokes, warm and cold, create rhythmic bands reminiscent of plant structures or natural stratifications. The alternation of metallic touches, organic marks, and turquoise backgrounds generates a vibrant surface in constant transformation. As in many of the artist's works, phosphorescence introduces a second reading: in the dark, the composition lights up with trails and flashes, revealing a hidden landscape. Metal Strata thus offers a glimpse into how the New Zealand artist transforms painting into a living territory to be traversed with the gaze.
