In his latest series, Fragmenta Maya, Pier Toffoletti guides the figure towards a fluid and ever-changing dimension.

The face dissolves, giving way to a more universal presence, whilst the vibrant, layered paint builds an image that emerges naturally from the interplay of colour and light. The body becomes an energy field, traversed by marks and hues that heighten perception.

The reference to the veil of Maya suggests a reality that is not limited to what we see, but opens up to a multitude of possibilities.

Toffoletti does not define, but expands: the image is set free, it transforms, inviting the gaze to lose itself and find itself anew, time and again.
