In "Le ballerine del lido", Paolo da San Lorenzo creates an original and theatrical figurative scene, brought to life by a group of female figures who appear to be moving in a suspended dance. The forms, defined by scratched lines and incisive marks, intertwine in a dense, rhythmic composition, where the warm tones of ochre, orange and yellow interact with the blues, greens and purples of the background. Taken as a whole, the work evokes a playful and surreal atmosphere, in which the human figure is deconstructed and reinvented through geometric shapes, ornamental details and deliberately altered perspectives. It is a work with a strongly narrative character, in which colour, movement and imagination merge to create a universe suspended between reality and fantasy.
