17_Untitled 786

A constantly expanding whirlwind of colours and shapes trails in the wake of this female face, with its delicate features and pensive expression, whilst behind her unfolds a tapestry of deep blues, brilliant yellows and coral reds. The drips and layers create an almost overwhelming sense of movement, contrasting with the grace of the figure and the refined ornamental pattern of her dress. This work by Casetti embodies two contrasting elements: the calm of the portrait and the irrepressible energy of the colour.
