In Andrea Giovannini's works, technique and perception intertwine naturally. The surface is created from successive layers of water-based paint and different materials, which create a base rich in micro-variations. It is precisely this structure that makes his paintings never the same: light constantly changes them. At certain moments, more intense areas emerge, while at others, softer passages open up; shadows shift, transparencies light up and fade, giving rise to ever-new interpretations. The work is never just one thing: it changes, moves, reacts to its surroundings and to the gaze.
