The perspective used by the British artist Beth Richardson in her canvases is often tilted and confronts the viewer with an upsetting point of view. In ‘Glow’ - a large-scale painting in acrylic on canvas - the yellow paint that should have been used to paint the walls is all overturned on the floor. The sense of estrangement created by the artist is often positive and is able to generate a sense of surprise in relation to everyday life that we often take for granted.
