14_Meditation 1117

In this work by Je Shen, a stream flows through a town bathed in shades of blue, whilst a shower of tiny white and pale blue flowers seems to fall from the trees onto the water’s surface. The buildings and the bridge stand out against the background with delicate brushstrokes of light, creating an intimate and tranquil scene. A small boat carrying a solitary figure glides along the river, introducing a subtle human element. The intense predominance of blue and the artist’s pointillist technique lend the work an evening atmosphere and a deeply intimate feel.
