06_Humana - Fiat Lux

The work asks the question: are we humans illuminated by divine light or do we emanate divine light? The iconographic representation of the work makes the situation ambiguous: is it the human figure that emanates a breath that ignites the light of the flame or is it the divine flame that ignites human life? From the answer derives our position in the universe and our importance in the scale of the living. Religions and ancestral and esoteric theories often give the answer that man is in the image of the divine, but they never fully answer the question. Instead, an absolute answer comes to us from science, yes from quantum mechanics, which posits that human consciousness is essential for all potential structures in the universe, from ants to galaxies, to have the semblance of reality that they have. A simply happy and unshocked life is, from an animic point of view, totally useless. This principle of trauma is represented by the spiky twig above the head, while the pentacle stands as a reminder that throughout our journey on this earthly plane we must always attempt to create balance between the four constituent elements of nature (earth, water, air and fire) and spirit (the fifth spike) because everything is connected and physical reality cannot be virtuous if spiritual energy is low and baleful. So overall the message of this work is: we are the source of everything, it is up to us to create a reality that, while happy, is rich in moments of pathos and therefore growth, for us and for all humanity.
