30_To the happy island

“To the Happy Island” by Matthias Brandes is a work that transports the viewer to an imaginary landscape, in which a small, distant island emerges as an ideal destination. Solid-looking but curiously sloping buildings, typical of his style, stand on a land that seems to float, almost suspended between sky and sea. Colors take shape in brushstroke after brushstroke, and the houses, with their familiar but slightly distorted architecture, evoke a mysterious and unreachable destination.
