In the work of Toni Alfano, the ancient and the modern merge into a single vision. The artist explores the theme of ancient Japan with an original freshness and extraordinary technical finesse. His "Sonatine" are characterized by a fascinating syncretism, which surprises the viewer. Here, a sculptural painting is mixed with a fragment of fresco, as if it had been torn from a wall. This contrast between Western aesthetics and the portrait of a Japanese geisha, with her colourful traditional costumes, creates a synthesis of opposites, inviting the viewer to open up to a broader vision.
