Toni Alfano's art of descialbo is a fascinating game of layering and removal, where the artist explores the concept of discovery through the act of ‘tearing’. Using mixed media, Alfano superimposes layers of colour and materials, creating a dialogue between what is visible and what is hidden. Each work becomes an emotional journey, in which the act of unearthing reveals not only the underlying beauty, but also forgotten stories and memories.
