In this large-scale work done in oil-on-canvas technique, Je Shen captures a moment of pure serenity. A stream meanders quietly by, reflecting small, unhurriedly flowing boats, while elegant white Greek-style architecture looms in the background. But it is the flowering cherry trees, painted drop by drop with the dripping technique, that dominate the scene, their pink petals seemingly suspended in time. A work that invites one to lose oneself in contemplation of an ephemeral and endless beauty.
