In this oil on canvas that is striking in its subject matter and size, Fabio Calvetti paints the urban environment of the underground. In this scene, the station, usually a symbol of frenzy and a fast pace of life, is motionless, there are no trains and no passers-by. The only one waiting is a woman, dressed in a long red dress. The protagonist of the scene seems to be waiting for a train that will not arrive. The only colours that stand out in this gloomy scene are the red of the dress and splashes of bright orange.
