Painting works

Ademaro Bardelli’s work has often been referred to as “Pittura di Meditazione” (“Meditative Painting”). Hands, faces, and profiles are mercilessly emphasised on an empty background; the works effuse a feeling of constant need to be loved, a sense of eternity, which the painter yearns for in each painting. Bardelli thus veils his works, that are intrinsically not pompous, with a fine mist of artistic holiness. The paintings seem to not bend under the impetuous strokes of the paintbrush – they seem rather to flutter in a fluid atmosphere that cushions every movement, evoking that very state of mind in which memories calmly flourish.
